The Requirements of Pressure Vessel in Nonferrous Metals especially in Titanium and Nickel

Requiements of Ti/Ni Pressure Vessel


Compression of titanium pressure vessel manufacturing components, shall meet the following requirements
1. Design temperature: pure titanium should not higher than 230 ℃, titanium alloy should not higher than 300 ℃, titanium/Steel clad plate should not be higher than 350 ℃.
2. Pressure vessel shell of titanium material should be used in the annealed state.
3. Titanium pressure vessel head forming hot forming or hot after cold forming to straighten. For forming of titanium steel clad plate head, ultrasonic testing should be done.
4. Titanium pressure vessel is generally not required heat treatment, the use of titanium in stress corrosion environment in the container or use titanium plate made of container, or hot working after welding shall be carried out after eliminating stress annealing. Titanium steel clad plate after explosion compound, eliminate stress annealing treatment should be done.
5. Titanium pressure vessel weld penetration test should be:
(1) Nozzle, flange, reinforcing ring and shell or head connection fillet weld;
(2) Heat exchanger tube and plate connected to the pipe weld;
(3) Titanium steel clad plate cladding weld and fillet cover plate with composite panels lap weld cladding.
Nickel material manufacture pressure vessel pressure parts, shall meet the following requirements:
1. The design temperature, in the annealing state of pure nickel material should not be higher than 650 ℃, nickel copper alloy should not be higher than 480 ℃, Ni - Cr - iron alloy should not be higher than 650 ℃, nickel - iron - chromium alloy should not be higher than 900 ℃.
2. Mainly used in the manufacture of pressure vessel pressure parts of nickel material should be used in annealing state, heat exchanger with linear nickel pipe should be used in eliminating stress annealing conditions.
3. The nickel material head of pressure vessel using hot forming should be strictly control heating temperature. For forming nickel steel composite panels, ultrasonic testing should be done.
4. Hot forming nickel material of heating temperature and heating and heating furnace atmosphere shall be strictly controlled, prevent pollution of sulfur brittleness. Recommend hot working temperature range is:
(1) Pure nickel (N6-2.5-1, 5) is 280 ~ 350 ℃;
(2) Monel (NCU28-2.5-1.5) for 350 ~ 500 ℃;
(3) Inconel (NS312) is 470 ~ 550 ℃;
(4) Hastelloy (NS334) is 930 ~ 1200 ℃.
Nickel material of the pressure vessel magnetic particle or liquid penetrant welds shall be of the following:
(1) Nozzle, flange, reinforcing ring and shell or head connection fillet weld;
(2) Heat exchanger tube plate connected to the pipe weld;
(3) Nickel steel composite board of cladding welding joint.
